Happy Greeters
Dog Joy at its finest

The other day I was looking through a round of recent submissions to our Smiling Dog contest, when I came upon this one which truly made my day! It is our first video entry, and it could not have been more perfect. Annette K. seems to be inspiring her Boxer pups, Sable and Woody to give her a big smile and in doing so, has spread their joy to thousands. We posted this on our FB page and already almost 50,0000 people have viewed it.

Her pup-perfect pitch even woke up my dozing dogs who seemed to want to join in on the fun.

One comment on FB, said that they "remind me of the old SNL skit..."we're just two wild and crazy guys." What do you think? And tell us, how do your dogs greet you? Do they have their own happy dance?

Does Your Dog Have an Underbite?
Showing teeth can be cute
dog underbite toothy grin smile

I love a dog with an underbite. There's something inherently sweet about it. My rescue Dutch Shepherd, Ginger Peach, shows her lower teeth when she’s relaxed. Her goofy grin reminds me of our late Catahoula, Desoto. He had an underbite that could charm anybody. He’d go up to a complete stranger, reveal those baby bottom teeth and offer his paw, like he wanted to shake on an agreement that he’d be cute and you would feed him, okay? Whatever you had at hand—that turkey sandwich or hot dog—would be just fine. And people would give their food to him because apparently, they love underbites, too. Does your dog have an underbite? If so, please post a photo of your dog's best toothy smile on Bark's Facebook page.

Smiling Steadman
Steadman

We are so happy to show off our little Steadman in Bark Magazine! Many families acquire beagles without realizing the attention, exercise and love they actually need to be healthy and happy dogs. Beagles are very intelligent, loving, thoughtful, and have the most adorable personalities. It’s obvious how much we love both our beagles and we couldn't imagine life without them!

Steadman was named after the British illustrator Ralph Steadman. His hobbies include long walks, playing catch or tug-of-war with his teddy bear, snuggling under Daddy's chin, and he enjoys fresh green bean treats or homemade frosty paws ice-cream in the summer. He loves playing with his big sister Bailey and keeps her young and happy when we aren’t around.

Before joining Beagles of Arizona Rescue Club we found our beagles at the pet store. We took one look at Steadman 6 years ago and couldn't leave the parking lot without him. Since then we’ve become educated about puppy mills/pet stores/breeders and will never again purchase a dog from such a facility. There are so many wonderful dogs waiting in shelters and rescue groups for their 2nd chance in a loving forever home!

Warmly,
Cory and Jessica
