The Bark has been fortunate to have showcased the photographs of Carol Guzy, who this week was honored with her fourth Pulitzer Prize. We featured Guzy’s extraordinary photos of Hurricane Katrina and its impact on the animals of the region in 2005. Bark also published a series she shot on the opening of the new Washington D.C. Animal Rescue League shelter.

Such powerful images. These images speak volumes, which makes them so poignant. Thanks for sharing them! I wonder if these images were ever used to raise awareness of the plight of pets during this natural disaster? Lisa

Wonderful series....it pulls at the heart strings.....a lot of people dont think of the animals....unless their best friend is one, and mine is.
