Prevention Institute is proud to present a conversation and book signing with Marion Nestle, Professor of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health and Professor of Sociology at New York University.   • Woofminster 2008 is a fundraising event being held for well-behaved dogs and their people to raise money for NEADS: Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans, and in particular, their Canines for Combat Veterans Program. The event will take place Sept. 13th and will feature several contests as well as a casting call to be the next Planet Dog Cover Dog. The best all-around pooch will win a professional photo shoot and the chance to be on the cover of the next Planet Dog catalog

  • The party that the Boston Globe listed as one of Five Hot Summer Parties, the Third Annual Canine Couture Fashion Show takes place at the Nantucket MSPCA on August 6, 2008, 11 Crooked Lane. Twenty canines strut their stuff, featuring delectable edibles, festive cocktails, raffles, and live auction. Tickets $150.


Sturbridge, MA

  • We'll be holding our annual fundraising event, Woofstock, at Westville Lake in Strurbridge, MA on Saturday, September 13, 2008.  It’s a great family fun day complete with contests, auctions, games and of course the Basset Waddle in the Woods!

Don't forget about Multnomah Days 2008! This annual dog wash fundraiser at the Lucky Labrador Public House in Multnomah Village takes place Aug 16 2008. It is a great way to spend a summer day. First, check out the Multnomah Days Parade at 10:00AM, and then mosey over to the Lucky Lab and have your dog washed, or sit back and enjoy some beer, food, and fun. The dog wash runs from 10:30AM to 2:00PM. A $5 donation is suggested per dog.

  • The Texas Heat Flyball Club of Dallas, Texas is hosting the Great Balls of Fire – Flyball Tournament on August 16 and 17, 2008, at Triple Crown Dog Academy in Hutto, Texas. Flyball is an exciting relay-style sport for dogs and people, and is the fastest growing dog sport in North America.

  • Local artists and contractors will design and built custom doghouses to benefit the Humane Society of Moab Valley. As the ArtWalk for Moab, the houses will be displayed at local businesses for two weeks prior to the BowWowHaus silent auction to be held Saturday, September 13.

  • The Addison County Humane Society presents WOOFSTOCK on the Middlebury Green October 4. A fund-raising walk begins at 11AM with registration at 10AM on the Middlebury Green. You do not have to have a dog or cat to participate. Live music, food and fun.

The biggest and best dog party in Vermont! This year dogs and their owners will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the loudest collective dog bark. Dog and owner masquerade parade.
