Story
FIONA NEEDS AN ADOPTER WITH A PRIVATE BACKYARD, WITHOUT YOUNG CHILDREN OR OTHER PETS AND PREFERABLY WHO IS EXPERIENCED WITH GREAT DANES/LARGE BREEDS. Meet super sweet Princess Fiona. She is an 8-year-old Great Dane. Her family moved out of state and now she is on The Rescue Train waiting for her fairytale ending. We are looking for a FURever home for this majestic creature. She's a young 8-year old, very strong and active. Her favorite activity is playing with her ball and chasing it around. She’s very kind and gentle, as well as a couch potato who just wants to be loved and give love. Fiona has limited vision, about 20-40%, and for that reason she can be protective of herself around new people and new animals. She needs a lot of verbal cues, but once she feels safe with you, she becomes a giant love bug...and we mean GIANT! --- If you are interested in adopting FIONA please fill out our foster/adoption application by clicking this LINK. Applications are required PRIOR to meeting one of our animals and are used to set up a safe and successful adoption. Please don't be shy and answer the questions thoroughly. To learn more about our entire process please visit www.therescuetrain.org and click on the "Adopt A Dog" page. PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT OWN A FACILITY. Our animals are in private foster homes. Story
This guy…..volunteer favorite at the shelter. He was strong on the leash but manageable. The volunteers loved him so…..he was sent to be neutered. Within a few days, Halston was running a fever and his “region” was swollen, red and painful. The infection was running through his body and he needed to see a specialist ASAP. He was rushed to an ER and that’s where we found him. Thanks to the vets at ASEC, Halston survived. His poor “region” was filled with drains and he was loaded up on antibiotics and well…..here he is. Alive and handsome and ready for his new home. Halston needs some leash work but he’s a quick learner. He loves people and will do anything to make you happy. You just have to let him know that you are in control. And we have no idea who chopped off his ears. Absolutely loves people Doesn’t hold a grudge about his “region” being infected Seriously, this guy needs a break. Adopt Halston and give him a new start on life. And if you can’t adopt, please consider fostering

Story
Hi, my name is Rome, I am a ~2 year old Great Dane mix. I weigh about 95lbs and am a super high energy, sweet, smart and snuggly boy. I am the perfect companion and protector. I am a natural guard dog who needs 1-2 hrs a day of attention from my owners to walk me, play with me and stimulate me, if I get that, I am happy to relax around the house for the rest of the day. I have done extensive training (10 weeks total of board and train with All Things Pups and K9 Delta) and am potty trained, crate trained, leash trainedknow sit, down, stay, place, go to your bed, leave it, up, heel, come and have great recall. A very good boy! Because of my size and energy I need an experienced dog owner who lives an active lifestyle. I will do best in a home with no children, and am open to other animals, just need to meet them to be sure we are a fit. I'm healthy, up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped.
