Story
This sweet girl was rescued from a high-kill shelter. Sabrina is a super-sweet girl who loves naps, cuddles, and long walks. She gets along well with mellow, polite dogs. Sabrina would do best in a loving, patient home that would show her that humans can be trusted (and a good source of pets/treats!)

Story
This sweet lady was brought into the South LA shelter on 7/11/23 and spent each day huddled in the back of her kennel run shaking and well....just miserable. And then one volunteer decided not to give up on her....and she coaxed Uki out of her corner and into the play yard. And it was the day our founder happened to be watching the dogs in the yard and she just knew Uki had to come into the Squad. Uki has come out of her shell and is just a kind, sweet, smart dog. She walks nicely on leash and is quick to learn commands. She loves people and snuggles up quickly - so yea, she's a little needy but it's super endearing. Uki obviously has had a few litters poor thing. But never again! If you are looking for a low key, loving dog....look no further. Hi I'm Buccaneer! So nice to meet you! I'm an INCREDIBLE young *11 months old Mastiff mix (best guess). I weigh around 80 lbs. GREAT with all dogs. Playful, gorgeous leash skills, crate trained. I can be shy meeting new people. A home with young, wild kids might prove to be too much for me but calm kids I would appreciate. I am a prize! Can't wait to meet you! *please note All of our dogs are in private foster homes. Once you fill out an application it will be screened by our volunteer adoption team. From there, if your application looks like a good fit for the particular dog, it will be sent to the foster where you can ask all the questions you would like and schedule a meet and greet. We do not transport our dogs. If you apply from out of state we do request you come to Los Angeles to meet us and fly home in cabin or drive. www.apurposefulrescue.org

Story
Tiny is a big baby (even though he looks a little scary lol). He was rescued from a home where he was starved and he had to survive on non-food essentials so he can be a bit of a chewing challenge. He's been living indoors with a pack of dogs and a trainer who has done some work with him but he still can be a challenge although it's not his fault - Tiny is a very sweet and affectionate young dog! He needs a large space to run and protect since his breed is very territorial and by nature protective His new family must understand this and allow him to do his job. He's definitely a family dog and once he bonds with you he will protect you from everyone and everything he may feel is a threat. Experience is required with proof of that experienced ownership These dogs are big, strong and can play very rough with other dogs or his humans. He is wonderful in a structured home once he learns the rules as he's learned where he's living now. Tiny is kennel trained and crate trained but his crate inside the home must be no smaller than a 54 inch. Anything smaller than that is too small. Tiny is neutered, great with females and most males. He is a dominant dog so his owner has to be an alpha handler in order to keep him out of trouble. Tint is a chewer! He cannot be left alone where he's free to roam in or outside because he loves to chew things up. Solar lights are his thing right now but if he's watched as he should be he can be monitored. Tiny loves laying on the couch :) He loves being extra close to his humans so your lap is as good a place as any lol He is really an affectionate dog and since he was rescued from starving to death he requires a bit more attention than a dog who wasn't. Someone who is home the majority of every day would be best - Please do not apply for adoption if you work more than a couple hours a day. Tiny has had some stomach issues since his rescue so regular veterinary visits are required for his health. He is used to the quiet and peaceful country environment so any city homes must understand that it will take some months for him to get used to. He will be very sensitive to the sounds and chaos in the city. Tiny is approximately 3-4 years old, utd on his required vax, and neutered. He’s not good with cats and Livestock is unknown. He is a high energy dog that loves to play and will often growl at his handlers when he plays lol - Some dogs will play that way and it's fine. He needs a strong handler and nothing less. He is on the smaller size for his breed but is still big and very strong. He is located in Riverside County right now.
